The Trailer

My Reaction

Pretty awesome graphics for 2013. This one stuck with me for the world it builds as much as anything else.

Overview

Remember Me casts you as Nilin, once an elite memory hunter capable of breaking into people’s minds to steal or reshape their memories. After being arrested and having her own memory wiped, Nilin is left with no idea who she was. The game follows her fight to piece her identity back together while navigating the memory-driven society of Neo-Paris.

What I Liked

  • The visual design of Neo-Paris is striking and holds up remarkably well for a 2013 release.
  • The memory remix mechanic, altering pivotal memories to change outcomes, is a genuinely clever idea few other games have tried.
  • Nilin’s mystery gives the story real momentum.

What I Didn’t Like

  • Combat can feel repetitive compared to the strength of the setting and story around it.

Verdict

Remember Me doesn’t always nail its combat, but its world, visuals and central hook around memory make it a memorable action-adventure worth playing.
