The Trailer
My Reaction
Team Fortress 2 works because every class gives you something clear to do, and then throws you into matches where everything is happening at once. You are dodging rockets, chasing objectives, trying to stay alive and relying on teammates at the same time.
Overview
Team Fortress 2 is a class-based shooter where two teams fight over objectives like capturing points or pushing a payload. You pick from nine classes, from fast-moving Scouts and rocket-jumping Soldiers to Medics keeping everyone alive and Spies sneaking behind enemy lines.
What I Liked
- Landing a backstab as a Spy, keeping a push alive as a Medic, or blasting through a choke point as a Heavy all feel completely different, and that variety is what makes each match unpredictable.
- Every class gives you a clear role, but mastering it takes real time.
- On PC, it grew into something bigger, with community servers, custom modes and player-created content keeping it alive for years.
- The art style and humor have held up remarkably well since 2007.
What I Didn’t Like
- The sheer number of cosmetic items and crates added over the years can feel overwhelming for newcomers jumping in today.
Verdict
Team Fortress 2 remains one of the best class-based shooters ever made. The variety between classes, the chaos of objective-based matches and the strength of its community kept it alive and thriving for nearly two decades. A genuine PC classic.
