The Trailer
My Reaction
These games are hard, no question. But keep in mind they’re beatable and that’s what makes them so satisfying. Every score chase and every stubborn combo feels like something you actually earned.
Overview
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 remasters the first two entries in Activision’s skateboarding series, bringing together the 1999 original and its 2000 sequel with updated visuals and controls. You chase high scores through levels built around objectives, stringing together tricks, grinds and manuals to rack up points before the timer runs out.
What I Liked
- The trick system is deep and rewarding, with every combo rewarding precise timing and creativity.
- The level design is packed with shortcuts and secrets that reward curiosity.
- The remaster keeps the feel of the originals while making them look and play better on modern hardware.
What I Didn’t Like
- The difficulty curve can be steep, especially on objectives that demand a very specific sequence of tricks.
Verdict
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 is demanding, but fair. The challenge is part of the appeal, and the games stay beatable the whole way through.
