About This Song
“47” appears on Diary, Sunny Day Real Estate’s 1994 debut album on Sub Pop. The Seattle band helped shape the sound of emo in the 90s and Jeremy Enigk’s soaring, emotional vocals became their trademark.
First Impressions
The guitars build and swell while Enigk’s voice cuts right through the noise.
My Reaction
“47” is a reminder of why Sunny Day Real Estate earned such a loyal following. It’s raw and heartfelt without ever feeling forced. They never became household names but the fans who found them never forgot them.
