My Reaction
What separates “Rap God” from a lot of technical rap is that Eminem isn’t just rhyming words. He’s rhyming entire sentences, stacking clause after clause so the rhyme scheme holds even as the thought keeps moving. The 4:26 to 4:42 stretch is the peak of it: the pace is so fast it barely sounds human, like he’s skipping oxygen entirely just to keep the syllables coming. It’s a genuinely staggering display of control. It holds up as one of the most purely technical rap performances ever put to record.
