About This Song
“Zombie” was released in 1994 on The Cranberries’ second album, No Need to Argue. Written by Dolores O’Riordan in response to the 1993 Warrington bombing during the Troubles. It’s a protest song about violence and loss rather than a typical single for the band and it became their biggest international hit.

My Reaction
What a stunning performance. O’Riordan’s delivery was raw and commanding and the band behind her. Noel Hogan, Mike Hogan and Fergal Lawler, gave the song a weight that filled the arena. It’s a reminder of how much force “Zombie” carries as a live piece, well beyond what the studio version captures.
